Envision Cooperative is looking for an Agronomy Plant Manager to be based at the Wolford Agronomy Center. This position directs, promotes, and coordinates agronomy operations in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service. The Wolford Plant Manager’s responsibilities involve sales, marketing, profitability, reporting, service, maintenance, environmental compliance, and other duties assigned by management. The Agronomy Plant Manager will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Submit all required operational reports to management within a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a system for monitoring and controlling inventory levels that results in minimal shrinkage.
  • Checking of all in-shipments for accuracy against the delivery ticket, proper quantity, price as ordered, and quality.
  • Maintain inventories at levels to assure service with a minimum of delivery delays, yet maintain inventory turn goals.
  • Work very closely with Rugby location on inventory and contracts.
  • Uphold all cooperative policies and procedures as well as the cooperative’s credit policy.
  • Ensure that department facilities and equipment meet all federal, state, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Achieve the department’s profitability goals.
  • Increase market share through regular sales efforts.
  • Assess safety equipment and regulations
  • Maintain records to comply with environmental and other regulations and update as necessary.
  • Provide and promote the service necessary to meet the department’s goals.
  • Ensure that property, facilities, and equipment remain in good repair and appearance.
  • Provide additional support and complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management.
 
JOB DUITES
  • Safely inspect and pump Anhydrous Ammonia into customer nurse tanks.
  • Blend dry fertilizer and load Customer Semi.
  • Safely operate tractor and forklift.
  • Maintain/operate under bin conveyor and blender system.
  • Repair and make hydraulic hoses.
  • Maintain the facility and grounds (mow and push snow).
  • Inventory, sell and deliver Chemical’s recommended by agronomists.
  • Inventory, sell and deliver basic hardware and parts.
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in an Agricultural related field.
  • Knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, the ability to multi-task.
  • The ability to work well within a team, and communicate efficiently.
 
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience in sales or retail is preferred.
  • Previous experience as an Agronomy Manager is beneficial.
  • Experience with AgVantage Software is beneficial.
