POSITION OVERVIEW
Envision Cooperative is looking for a full-time Sales Agronomist to be located at our Rugby Agronomy Center. The Sales Agronomist’s objective is to sell, deliver, and recommend chemical and seed, and conduct soil testing. The Sales Agronomist provides and promotes agronomy services to customers in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service. The Sales Agronomist will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Service
- Assist Agronomy Manager in establishing sales goals (monthly and yearly).
- Maintain delivery schedules and sales to customers in a manner which will result in increased satisfaction.
- Make sales calls and farm visits to all potential customers in the trade area.
- Know and use all resources necessary to make proper recommendations of products sold.
- Correctly identify resources for assistance and keep resource manuals accessible and current.
- Ensure no product problems result due to your recommendation and lose no customers due to careless performance.
- Attend all product updates and service training sessions and stay current on prices of products and services offered.
- Clear all major bids with your supervisor.
- Assist in developing competitive marketing strategies.
- Keep all customers supplied with product.
- Assist with having equipment in operating condition by the beginning of the fertilizer season.
- Schedule deliveries to customers with minimum complaints.
- Promote the cooperative by educating patrons on the background of Envision Cooperative.
- Encourage repeat sales by enhancing the profitability of customers.
- Respond to after-hour calls promptly.
- Maintain proficiency in retail sales and knowledge of appropriate agricultural programs.
- Present a copy of each transaction to the customer after each delivery.
- Turn in and promptly invoice all sales tickets.
- Submit daily trip reports to the supervisor.
- Inform supervisor of discrepancies in your reports and invoices as soon as you are aware of them.
- Assist in having equipment in good operating condition by the start of the fertilizer season.
- Ensure that property, facilities, and equipment remain in good repair and appearance.
- Always be compliant with and adhere to all federal, state, and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate safe storage and handling procedures to customers.
- Report all chemical and fertilizer spills and accidents to the supervisor.
- Follow regular maintenance schedule provided by your supervisor.
- Enforce and uphold all cooperative policies, including the cooperative’s credit policy.
- Provide additional support and complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Agronomy Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree in Agricultural Field.
- 2-5 years’ experience in agriculture.
- Ability and willingness to learn new software applications and technologies.
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, the ability to multi-task.
- The ability to work well on own and amongst a team for many hours.
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Field
- Previous experience as a Salesman, Agronomist, or related agricultural occupation is beneficial.
- Experience with AgVantage Software is beneficial
